Nothing more mundane than dust. One morning I was sitting at one of my favourite squares in Granada and saw this woman gathering sand, bits of paper and other matter.
She worked constantly and with a rhythmic movement that was even soothing. Now and then a small garbage truck came by to sweep up all the small heaps.
What I especially liked about this scene, were the shadows and the dust whirling in the sunbeams. Fortunately I could capture part of it.
My contribution toย Mundane Monday Challenge #119.
Great shot, Marga. What amaze me is seeing that guy sitting there comfortably ๐
Have a wonderful day.

Thank you, Helen. Yes, the woman and the man lived in two different worlds, seemingly each with their own thoughts. She moved her brush around the bench and he did not even blink. ๐

That is a very nice street photo. It gives the laid back feeling of this place.

Thank you. It is a very intimate square where locals to have a chat, take a bite or just sit on one of the benches. One of my favorite places in Granada!

before i read the text, i was thinking, that must be morning although nothing screams (in a good way) the time of day…the subtle capture of light and shadow i think splendidly captured

Thank you for your comment, Eliot. And you are right, it was morning when I took the picture. I just had my breakfast in a bar round the corner and looked for my favourite bench in this square to enjoy the tranquility of the moment, just as if everybody was still waiting for the day to begin.

that time between breaking free of the horizon and the hustle bustle of the day can’t be beat ๐

What a lovely photo. When I looked at the caption I realized that I walked past the square every morning for a week!

Oh yes, that’s right, you were in Granada! Did you like it as much as I do and did you see the Bar Fรบtbol which has an outdoor terrace and offers delicious ‘churros con chocolate’?

Sadly, I’ve been off chocolate. So I would put my head down and walk rapidly past anything which looked like it served churros. Didn’t notice Bar Futbol. But I loved the town, especially the great tabernas between this square and the Corral de Carbon.

Sorry to hear about the chocolate, I won’t mention it again. Yes, the town is great as well as the tabernas. I am glad you enjoyed your stay.

The monochrome and lighting make for a very nice street photo especially since the timing and placement is spot on

Thank you, Laura. For me the light is always important and in this case I was mesmerized by the sunbeams early in the morning. The timing of street photos is usually tricky, you have to be quick, so I am happy that here it worked out and that you like the result.
