These days it is hard to imagine that I once lived in the Calle de Elvira, an emblematic street in Granada belonging to the quarter called the Albayzín. From my window I looked out on this beautiful arch, part of the ancient walls around the city, which I did rather often.
When I returned in May, I wanted to say ‘hello’ to my house, but it had been closed down waiting for a big restoration. No wonder, it already was old and nearly falling apart in my time (the 1970s). I still remember the shocked look on my parents’ faces when they came to visit me.
Although a number of things has changed, the street still has its charm, especially in the afternoon light.
My contribution to this week’s Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge.
Very cool!

Thank you, Laurie! It was so nice to be back and see ‘my’ old street and the arch again.

Thank you, Cee. I love this time of day, because of this lighting. So warm and golden.
