Dancing in the street

Street organ in The Hague (Netherlands)

The street organ, a well-known phenomenon in the streets of the Netherlands. When I was young, it used to come by our street every Friday with the organist trying to collect some money. We loved it because of the lively tunes it played, music that we all knew. A cheerful moment that made us sing and dance merrily along with the organ.

Nowadays the organ can be mainly found in the shopping centres of the bigger cities, but as you can see on the photo it still has the same effect on people. This picture was taken in The Hague on our sisters’ day out.
