The red bucket halfway up the stairs is perfect for the composition of the picture but it looks like an accident waiting to happen if someone is coming down!
I had not noticed it (so thanks for your comment), but it really seems against the safety regulations. Not only the lonely bucket, but also the wet steps. If I am well informed, they are supposed to clean the left half first and then the right half, so that people can keep passing by without any danger.
While I was waiting for the right moment, a man went up the stairs with his bicycle; fortunately he got upstairs okay.
Very clever. I wonder if the colour coding is by chance or design?
