The flying muse

Last month on one of my photographic tours I went to the small city of Willemstad with its old fortifications and monumental buildings.

As I was wandering through the historic streets and alleys, I was surprised to find in the middle of the high street a tasteful modern building and a dito window. On the balcony stood an elegant sculpture. It turned out to be the art gallery Van Bellen Art and clearly  in this way they aim to lure prospective clients into their premises.

I dubbed the work of art ‘The Flying Muse’, but maybe she is doing something quite different. Diving? Or it could be that the artist only strived to enhance the womanly forms of his model representing her in this position or just wanted to make something beautiful?

My contribution to this week’s Monday Window.
