For years we had been planning to go and see the Medes Islands, a group of small isles close to the coast of the Baix Empordà (Catalonia). It is a marine reserve boasting beautiful nature above as well as under water.

Last year we finally made the trip on a boat that departed from L’Escala. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed every minute of it, making photos by the dozen to record all we were seeing.

Sailing back to the marina I was fascinated by the mark we left on the water and the form of the spume full of energy, constantly changing and never repeating its patterns. This is one of the many photos I took that day. And yes, afterwards I had to remove all the splatters on my camera very carefully!
